I just try to watch mine–– As they stumble through air, as they mistake distance and place weight where they shouldn’t, let them explore architecture, space and reflect the clatter of my teeth in the cold quakes or watch them as they fill with blood and heat, how rage escapes in time to form two fists… Then just how easy it all subsides. So easy. These hands do the things I wish I could too. "How remarkable you are!" I tell them, quietly. "How you, unlike all of it, unlike time or the trodden path of humankind or the curve behind or even the infrastructure of my mind, how you change."
